Our programs are designed to cater for all abilities, ages, and both boys and girls.
2025 is shaping to be a huge year of growth for Ashfield after an amazing 2024. We are excited to welcome your family into our club.
Junior soccer at Ashfield is suitable for ages 4 and up. Our model consists of parent helpers supported by coaches, with no trials or registration day deadlines. Ashfield is a club for everyone, forever.
We have a 4 Year old to Elite Senior Pathway and we accommodate everything in between.
So whether your child just wants to play for fun, or sees themselves as the next Kerr or Cahill, Ashfield is suitable for you.
Clusters
Playing format:
Number of players: 4-a-side with no goalkeeper, maximum of 3 substitutes
Field of play: 30m long x 20m wide
Goal size: 2m wide x 1m high
Duration of the game: 20 min halves, minimum 5 min half time break
The competition kicks off halfway through April with training typically commencing in March.
Training is once a week on Tuesday nights run by AFC coaches with match day support shared between parents and the coaches.
Miniroos
Children turning 8 - 12 in the 2025 calendar year can start playing MiniRoos competition football.
Games are played Home (Paintseal Arena/Ashfield Reserve) & Away (Various Grounds within 30 mins) on Sunday with kick-off typically between 8:00 and 11:00.
Playing format:
Number of players: 7-a-side including a goalkeeper (Under8’s - Under9’s) and 9 -a-side including a goalkeeper (Under 10’s - Under 12’s)
20 or 25-minute halves
Players will be asked to attend a player placement day. Training usually commences in March with games starting in April
Metro Juniors
Children turning 13-18 in the 2024 calender year start playing in Metro Juniors Competition Football
Development of young players is a key part of the Club’s philosophy. We believe that players of all abilities should have the opportunity to develop to their fullest potential. We want the training to be productive and skills based, but most of all enjoyable for the players and conducted in a supportive and inclusive environment.
Playing Format:
Number of players: 11v11
Games are on Sunday mornings, with training and home games played at Paintseal Arena/Ashfield Reserve.
We aim to provide access to a dedicated qualified and/or experienced non-parent coach to assist and support parent coaches for all of our junior teams.
